8. BAKEA (International Symposium on Western Culture and Literature Studies) Symposium was held at Marmara University on November 1-3, 2023, with the theme 'Human.' Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda ARIKAN and Res. Asst. Yeşim İPEKÇİ from our Department of English Language and Literature participated in the symposium. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda ARIKAN presented a paper titled 'Human, Disaster, and Literature,' while Res. Asst. Yeşim İPEKÇİ presented a paper titled 'A Way of Human’s Being in the World: Love and (Anti-) Bildung in The Mill on the Floss.'
